Combat Magic: Spells and Swords is an online action game by Kisunja. This free-to-play game is set in the medieval world and features two small armies clashing on the battlefield. Here, players will join the fight with the objective of killing the enemy’s king. Each round supports up to eight players, and you can play either a warrior, an archer, or a sage. 

Combat Magic is a war game that offers a diverse and complex combat system. However, while the concept is good, it could use a few enhancements: The graphics are too poor, and the combat is too stiff. 

What is Combat Magic: Spells and Swords?

Combat Magic: Spells and Swords is a competitive game set in the medieval era. As mentioned, the game pits two small armies against each other to kill the opponent’s king. However, the king is normally sheltered in the enemy base. With this, you would have to face off against the enemy’s soldiers. You will need to devise strategies with the other player to win the battle. 

Players can set up a battle arena that supports up to eight players. There are three classes that players can choose from; archer, sage, and warrior. Each class has unique abilities. Not only that, but you can customize them to create a player for your playstyle. You can even change their appearance using the customization options available.  Moreover, there are plenty of weapons—both melee and ranged—at your disposal. 

The controls are simple and optimized for smaller screens. The left side of the screen holds the virtual movement stick, while the right side has all the action buttons. You can jump, dodge, block, and, of course, attack. What’s more, you can change weapons mid-fight. However, as noted, the combat is rather stiff. The controls are unresponsive that sometimes you end up hacking the wall instead of the enemy. 

Is the game good?

Overall, Combat Magic: Spells and Swords is an online game with a good concept. It allows players to battle other players in various modes. It also offers a large armory and a variety of character classes. However, this good premise is overshadowed by the game’s uninspiring performance. The combat is stiff, and the controls are awry. Add in poor visuals, and you get a lackluster multiplayer game.
